FCS Marine : Questions and Answers

Q: Do you service yacht refrigeration and commercial vessel systems?
A: Yes—yachts, charter boats, and commercial vessels. We service galleys, freezers, cold rooms, and machinery-space refrigeration systems.

Q: What causes a yacht fridge or freezer to stop cooling?
A: Most often it’s low refrigerant from a leak, poor seawater flow through the condenser, dirty coils, a restricted TXV/cap tube, or a failing compressor.

Q: Do you fix leaks or just “top off” refrigerant?
A: We fix leaks. Proper repair + pressure test + evacuation + charge by spec gives you stable temps and avoids repeat failures. Unless authorized by representatives for a “top off”

Q: Do you work on seawater-cooled condensers?
A: Yes. We verify flow, clear restrictions, address scaling/corrosion, and confirm performance—because condenser heat rejection is the whole game on boats.

Q: Can you respond after hours for refrigeration emergencies?
A: Yes. If temps are climbing and provisions are at risk, we prioritize emergency support to protect food, guest experience, and trip plans.

Q: What areas do you service?
A: South Florida, including Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and surrounding ports/shipyards.

Q: Do you provide documentation for captains and management companies?
A: Yes. We can provide findings, readings, scope, and recommendations—clean and professional for approvals and records.

Q: What should I have ready when I call?
A: Vessel name and location. System type (air or seawater-cooled), symptoms, when it started, refrigerant type if known, and any alarm codes or pressure readings.
